How to choose exit buttons

An infrared exit button activates when a hand enters its sensing area. It needs its own power supply and uses relay contacts to signal the controller or switch a suitable control circuit. Check contact ratings and the wiring plan before putting a lock load through the device.

XB-110 and XB-120 use stainless plates in different sizes. XB-130 adds an IP67 metal configuration and several plate formats. Choose by the available mounting surface and exposure, then place the sensing area where users can operate it without reaching around the door.

Test activation distance and indicator behavior during commissioning. Avoid placement where normal movement repeatedly triggers release. The maglock wiring guide illustrates how exit devices fit the circuit; the required release arrangement must still be assessed for the actual door.

Frequently asked questions

Is a touchless exit button powered by its relay contacts?

No. The infrared sensor needs the stated DC supply. Its relay contacts form a separate switching connection.

Do these exit buttons provide both normally open and normally closed contacts?

The listed XB models provide NO/NC/COM relay contacts. Use the contact arrangement required by the controller or control circuit.

Which model has a published IP67 rating?

XB-130 lists IP67. Do not extend that rating to XB-110 or XB-120, or to unsealed mounting connections.
