125 kHz EM4100 / TK4100 Read-Only ID Card: overview

CA-160 is a read-only 125 kHz proximity card family for existing attendance, access-control and patrol systems. The listed chip choices are EM4100, EM4102 and TK4100. The credential presents a card number to the reader, and that number is fixed before the card is sealed; it is not a writable user-data card.

The family includes standard, thin, thick and special-shaped formats, with PVC and ABS listed as construction materials. No numerical dimensions or thicknesses are supplied for those format choices. Specify the physical form needed for printing, carrying or insertion into a holder, then confirm the actual dimensions before approving the order.

Use the reader and issuing system to establish compatibility. The source describes identification by an exposed card number without a separate security function. This family therefore should not be described as an authenticated smart-card credential or as protection against copied identifiers. It is intended to reproduce the credential format an existing system expects, subject to a sample check.

The published sensing figure is 10–25 cm, but the reader, antenna and card construction are not identified for that measurement. Treat it as an unqualified reference value, and test the selected card on the installed reader. Data retention is stated as more than ten years. No operating temperature, ingress rating or guaranteed number uniqueness is supplied for this product.
