Slim 23 × 9 × 3 mm ceramic UHF tag for narrow metal surfaces, with an Alien Higgs-9 chip in US or EU band versions; 4 m on metal with a fixed reader, 3 m with a handheld.
The CT-130 is a narrow 23 × 9 × 3 mm ceramic UHF RFID tag for metal items that offer little flat area: tool handles, instrument edges, rails, brackets and the rims of housings. It carries an Alien Higgs-9 EPC Gen2 chip and is listed for both 902–928 MHz and 866–868 MHz operation, so it can be ordered for either major UHF band.
Rated read distance is 4 m on metal with a 4 W fixed reader and 3 m with a handheld reader. That is enough to capture tagged items as they pass a reader portal at a tool crib, or to check a shelf of parts with a handheld without handling each one.
The body is ceramic with a printed silver-paste antenna, and the chip is bonded to the antenna and encapsulated in epoxy resin. A strong pre-applied adhesive holds it in place. A tag that is forced off breaks its antenna and stops reading, which prevents quiet swapping of IDs between assets.
Order CT-130-US for 902–928 MHz readers or CT-130-EU for 866–868 MHz readers. Give the tag a flat seat at least as large as its footprint and keep its face unobstructed. No temperature, chemical or IP rating is published, so qualify it with a sample before using it in wash-down, outdoor or heated environments.

Plan RFID for warehouse management: fixed readers and circular antennas at dock doors, conveyor tunnels, handheld cycle counts and on-metal asset tags.
Build an RFID asset tracking system: on-metal, ceramic and tie-on tags matched to each asset, handheld audits, smart cabinets and IP67 HF heads for tooling.
Order CT-130-US if your readers operate at 902–928 MHz and CT-130-EU if they operate at 866–868 MHz. Chip, size and rated range are the same.
The datasheet lists 4 m on metal with a 4 W fixed reader and 3 m with a handheld. Allow margin for your reader, antenna and mounting, and confirm with a sample.
The ceramic body is rigid, so it needs a flat seat of at least 23 × 9 mm. On curved parts, test adhesion and reading with a sample first.
No. Forced removal breaks the antenna and the tag stops responding, so each ID stays with the item it was first applied to.

Yes, RFID works on metal with tags built for it. See why metal detunes standard tags, compare ABS, PCB, ceramic and label tags, and test read range properly.
