Anti-Clone Encrypted Card Reader, IP67, Wiegand 26/34/66: overview
AX-120 is the card-only model in the 89.5 mm encrypted reader pair. It reads 13.56 MHz cards issued under the reader's encryption key and passes the card number to the controller over Wiegand, so it can take the place of a UID-only reader on an existing panel. A card cloned from a genuine UID is not accepted.
The housing carries an IP67 rating, which makes it a good fit for building entrances, pedestrian gates and car-park doors that see rain or wash-down. Operating range is –20 to +60 °C at 15–90% humidity, and the reader measures 89.5 × 89.5 × 16.3 mm.
Encrypted cards support a validity period and a use-count limit. Visitor passes, contractor cards and short-let tenants can all be given access that ends on a fixed date or after a fixed number of entries. Read range is up to 7 cm, depending on the card type and surroundings.
Integration notes
Run the reader from 12 V DC ±5% (≤ 200 mA). White is D1 and green is D0; purple and gray accept beeper and LED control from the controller. Select 26, 34 or 66-bit output with a configuration card, which also sets the key, card-number format and read mode, or tie the yellow lead to GND for fixed 26-bit output. Is the card-only model as secure as the keypad model?
The card encryption is the same. The keypad model, AX-110, adds PIN entry for doors that need a second factor.
Can it be mounted at an exposed entrance?
The housing is rated IP67, with an operating range of –20 to +60 °C and 15–90% humidity.
Will it work with my existing controller?
Yes, if the controller accepts Wiegand 26, 34 or 66-bit input. The reader sends the card number over D0/D1 like a standard Wiegand reader.
How far away is a card read?
Up to 7 cm. Range varies with the card type and the installation environment.
How are the encrypted cards supplied?
The reader uses customized encrypted cards, so order cards together with readers to keep the key set and output format matched. We confirm chip type and lead time in the quote.
