Small single-use UHF cable seal with a 36 × 23 × 11 mm ABS head and 280 mm steel wire, read at close range (0.3 m fixed, 0.1 m handheld) for one-at-a-time checks.
The ST-120 is a compact, single-use UHF RFID cable seal for places where a large seal head would get in the way: meter boxes, cabinet latches, valve handles, instrument covers and bag closures. The ABS head measures 36 × 23 × 11 mm, and it uses the same 280 mm steel wire, 1.8 mm in diameter, as our larger ST-110.
Locking is one-way. The wire loops through the fitting and into the head, a steel ball grips it, and it cannot be pulled back out. To open the sealed item, the wire has to be cut, which is plain to see on inspection.
The tag inside uses an Alien Higgs-9 chip across 860–960 MHz, but its short read range is the defining trait: 0.3 m with a 4 W fixed reader and 0.1 m with a handheld. Treat it as a close-contact seal. An inspector holds the reader right at the seal to confirm its ID, and neighboring seals are unlikely to answer by mistake.
Because the range is so short, the ST-120 does not suit drive-through portals; use the ST-110 where seals must be read from a vehicle lane. For checks at a desk or counter, bring the seal to a UHF desktop reader. The datasheets list the head as both 36 × 23 × 11 mm and 36 × 26 × 11 mm, so we confirm the current dimension with a sample.

| ST-120-GL | Compact UHF RFID cable seal, 36 × 23 × 11 mm ABS head, 280 mm × Ø1.8 mm steel wire, Alien Higgs-9, 860–960 MHz |
Build an RFID asset tracking system: on-metal, ceramic and tie-on tags matched to each asset, handheld audits, smart cabinets and IP67 HF heads for tooling.
Plan RFID container seal checks: one-time-lock UHF wire seals, handheld and fixed gate readers, and encoding that links each seal to its shipment record.
The small head leaves little room for an antenna, so it is rated 0.3 m with a 4 W fixed reader and 0.1 m with a handheld. That suits deliberate, one-at-a-time verification rather than portal reading.
Both use a 280 mm × 1.8 mm steel wire and a one-time steel-ball lock. The ST-120 has a much smaller 36 × 23 × 11 mm head and reads at 0.3 m, while the ST-110's 100 mm head reads at 5 m.
No. Once tightened, the wire cannot be withdrawn, so removal means cutting it and fitting a new seal.
Yes. The tag covers 860–960 MHz, which includes both the 902–928 MHz and 865–868 MHz bands.

Yes, RFID works on metal with tags built for it. See why metal detunes standard tags, compare ABS, PCB, ceramic and label tags, and test read range properly.
