Glass-Panel Wiegand Card Reader, Black or Gold Metal Frame: overview
The CR-280 pairs a black glass panel with a black or champagne-gold metal frame and a gradient running-light LED bar, for hotel corridors, offices and residential lobbies where the reader is on show. It is card-only, measures 90 × 90 × 20.8 mm overall, and ships with no logo on the glass, so it will not clash with your branding or your client's.
CR-280-M versions read 13.56 MHz credentials to ISO/IEC 14443A/B and ISO/IEC 15693, including MIFARE Classic 1K/4K, DESFire and CPU cards, ICODE and TI HF tags, and the iCLASS card serial number (CSN) only. CR-280-D versions add 125 kHz EM-type cards for sites that still carry older fobs. Reading distance is 0–5 cm depending on the card and installation.
Output is Wiegand 34 as standard, with Wiegand 26 selectable, and further output parameters are changed with a configuration card. The reader runs on 12 V DC at no more than 200 mA across –20 to +60 °C and is designed to resist metal shielding, so it can sit on metal surrounds.
Integration notes
A 220 mm (8.7 in) pigtail carries red +12 V, black GND, green D0, white D1, purple buzzer control and gray LED control. Tie yellow to GND to switch the output to Wiegand 26. No ingress rating is published, so treat it as an indoor reader.

CR-280 FAQ
Does the CR-280 have a keypad?
No, the CR-280 is card-only. The CR-290 is the touch-keypad version in the same 90 × 90 mm glass-and-metal housing.
Is there a logo on the glass?
No. Standard units ship with a plain glass panel, which suits reseller and white-label projects.
Which frame colors can I order?
Black or champagne gold, both with a black glass panel. Add BK or GD to the SKU, for example CR-280-D-GD.
Can it read HID iCLASS credentials?
It reads the iCLASS card serial number (CSN) only, not the secure credential data. Enroll iCLASS cards by CSN in your access software.
What read distance does it achieve?
Up to 5 cm, depending on the card type and installation environment.
