IP67 Waterproof Slim Wiegand Card Reader, 125 kHz/13.56 MHz: overview
The CR-240 is a narrow, card-only reader for doors where a square unit will not fit or would spoil the finish. Its 80.5 × 44 mm face suits mullions and slim frames, and the electronics are fully potted in epoxy resin to an IP67 rating, so it can be used on exposed entrances as well as indoors. A red diamond-and-line light strip on the black housing gives it a distinctive look that works in both traditional and minimalist interiors.
Two versions are stocked. CR-240-E reads 125 kHz EM-type thick cards, thin cards and key fobs. CR-240-M reads the UID of ISO/IEC 14443A/B credentials, including MIFARE Classic 1K/4K, DESFire, Ultralight, NTAG213/NTAG216 and CPU smart cards. Both send the number to the controller as Wiegand 26 or 34, with a read distance of up to 3 cm depending on the card and the surface behind the reader.
Output format, card key and number format are set by presenting a configuration card, so no software is needed at the door. The reader runs from 12 V DC at no more than 200 mA over –20 to +65 °C, with anti-static design and short-circuit protection on the outputs.
Integration notes
Connect red to +12 V, black to GND, green to D0 and white to D1. Purple and gray are buzzer and LED control inputs driven by the controller. Grounding the yellow lead locks the output to Wiegand 26, which suits panels that accept only the 26-bit format.

CR-240 FAQ
Can the CR-240 be installed outdoors?
The electronics are potted in epoxy resin and the reader is rated IP67, with an operating range of –20 to +65 °C. That covers exposed entrances in most temperate climates; for sites colder than –20 °C choose a wide-temperature reader.
Does CR-240-M read encrypted MIFARE sectors?
No. CR-240-M is specified for UID reading of MIFARE Classic, DESFire, Ultralight, NTAG and CPU cards. For readers that authenticate MIFARE sectors in the same style, see CR-260-M or CR-270-M.
What read distance should I expect?
Up to 3 cm. The exact figure depends on the card or fob type and on the mounting surface, so test with your own credentials before rollout.
How do I choose Wiegand 26 or 34?
Tie the yellow lead to GND for fixed Wiegand 26, or leave it unconnected and set the format with a configuration card.
