Slim Touch Keypad Card Reader, Wiegand 26/34/66, ABS: overview

The CR-140 is a card-and-PIN reader with a flat touch keypad in a slim 113 × 75 × 16 mm ABS housing. It connects to any access controller with a Wiegand input and fits indoor doors, meeting rooms and lift lobbies where a low-profile front looks better than a bulky metal reader.

Five versions cover most card estates. CR-140-E handles 125 kHz EM4100/EM4102/EM4200 cards and fobs, and CR-140-M reads 13.56 MHz MIFARE, NTAG and CPU card UIDs. CR-140-MS adds MIFARE Classic 1K/4K sector data, CPU card files, ISO/IEC 15693 UIDs and the iCLASS CSN, while CR-140-MS-FC also reads FeliCa. CR-140-D takes 125 kHz EM and 13.56 MHz MIFARE/NTAG credentials in one unit, so a site can run old proximity cards and new MIFARE cards side by side during a migration.

A configuration card sets the Wiegand format, read mode, card key and card-number output, which lets one stocked item be adapted project by project. Card data reaches the controller in under 120 ms, and the inputs are protected against ESD and wiring mistakes.

Integration notes

Power: 12 V DC (±5%), up to 200 mA. Leads: red +12 V, black GND, white D1, green D0, purple buzzer control, gray LED control; ground the yellow lead to force Wiegand 26. PIN data shares the Wiegand pair, and the keypad format is not given on the datasheet, so name your controller when ordering and we confirm compatibility. No ingress rating is published; use it indoors or under cover.

Where the CR-140 is used

  • Meeting-room and office doors that need card plus PIN on a slim reader
  • Lift lobbies where a controller checks card and PIN before calling the car
  • Sites moving from 125 kHz EM to MIFARE with the -D dual-frequency version
  • Member entrances where staff enter a PIN when a card is forgotten
Elevators

Elevator Access Control Readers

Elevator card readers for car panels and lift lobbies: anti-clone encrypted cards, QR codes for visitors, Wiegand or RS485 output to the floor controller.

CR-140 FAQ

What does the dual-frequency -D version read?

125 kHz EM4100/EM4102/EM4200 cards and fobs plus the UID of MIFARE Classic, DESFire, Plus, Ultralight and NTAG2xx cards, with Wiegand 26/34/66 output. CPU-card and sector reads are not listed for -D.

Is the keypad touch or mechanical?

It uses touch keys on a flat front panel; there are no mechanical buttons.

How are PIN entries sent to the controller?

Keypad data goes out on the same Wiegand pair as card numbers. The PIN format is not published, so tell us your controller model and we confirm it before dispatch.

Which Wiegand formats are supported?

Wiegand 26 and 34 on every version, plus Wiegand 66 on -MS, -MS-FC and -D. Choose the format with the configuration card, or ground the yellow lead to force Wiegand 26.

Is there a card-only version in the same housing?

Yes. The CR-150 uses the same 113 × 75 × 16 mm ABS housing without the keypad.
