Compact 25 × 10 × 2.5 mm FR4 PCB tag for small metal parts: 3 m on metal with a 4 W fixed reader, 2 m with a handheld. NXP UCODE 8.
OM-200 is a small FR4 circuit-board UHF tag for metal items with little free surface: hand tools, gauges, surgical and medical instruments, small IT parts and firearm components. At 25 × 10 × 2.5 mm it is thin enough to sit on a tool body or equipment edge without getting in the way.
The datasheet quotes 3 m on a metal surface with a 4 W fixed reader and 2 m with an Impinj R2000-based handheld. That is enough for tool-crib gateways, cabinet readers and handheld audits, though not for long portal reads. The chip is an NXP UCODE 8, and the tag is listed for 902–928 MHz and 866–868 MHz; order OM-200-US or OM-200-EU for your region.
If the item has room for a larger tag, OM-180 (52 × 13 mm) quotes 8 m on metal; for the smallest PCB footprint, see OM-210 (16 × 15 mm).
The datasheet lists no fixing method. PCB tags of this size are commonly bonded with epoxy or industrial adhesive, or set into a shallow pocket machined in the part. Test your chosen method on samples, with the tag in its final position, before rollout. The EPC can be encoded on site with any Gen2 reader-writer.

Build an RFID asset tracking system: on-metal, ceramic and tie-on tags matched to each asset, handheld audits, smart cabinets and IP67 HF heads for tooling.
3 m with a 4 W fixed reader and the tag on metal, and 2 m with an Impinj R2000-based handheld, per the datasheet.
The datasheet does not specify a method. Epoxy, industrial adhesive or a machined pocket are common for PCB tags of this size; test your method on samples.
OM-200-US for 902–928 MHz readers and OM-200-EU for 866–868 MHz readers.
Yes. OM-210 measures 16 × 15 × 3.8 mm and quotes 2.6 m on metal with a 4 W fixed reader.
Compare UHF RFID reader bands by country, including US, EU, UK, China, India and Japan. Understand ERP, EIRP, channel conditions and radio approvals.
Wire a UHF reader's D0, D1 and ground to your controller, match 26/34-bit Wiegand, size 12 V power and trigger the barrier by relay. Diagrams included.
Yes, RFID works on metal with tags built for it. See why metal detunes standard tags, compare ABS, PCB, ceramic and label tags, and test read range properly.
