Stamp-sized 23 × 20 mm UHF RFID reader module for US-band (902–928 MHz) devices: 18–26 dBm, sensitivity below −85 dBm, TTL UART and a hardware watchdog.
The GM-160 is a mini UHF RFID reader module measuring just 23 × 20 mm (±1 mm), the smallest UHF reader board in our current range. It gives compact US-market devices, such as handheld scanners, desktop enrollment readers and locker controllers, an EPC Gen2 / ISO 18000-6C engine on a board about the size of a postage stamp.
Transmit power is set between 18 and 26 dBm, held to within ±1 dB of the setting with ±0.2 dB flatness across the band, and the receiver picks up replies weaker than −85 dBm. Firmware is tuned two ways: a multi-tag inventory algorithm for crowded fields, and a quick-response routine for the common case of one or two tags. 915 MHz long-range UHF cards are supported. Internally, a dual-processor layout handles tag polling and host output at the same time, while a hardware watchdog and RF power-amplifier monitoring protect against lockups and amplifier saturation.
This part is specified for the FCC 902–928 MHz band only, for the US, Canada and other regions that follow FCC rules. For ETSI 865–868 MHz projects, choose the dual-band GM-150 or the GM-140-EU instead.
Run the module from 4.5–5.5 V DC. The data sheet gives operating current as 300 mA–2.5 A, so size the regulator for the upper figure and measure actual draw on a sample. The host link is a TTL UART at 115200 bps (default) or 38400 bps. Rated operating temperature is −25 to +70 °C, with storage from −30 to +80 °C.

Build an RFID asset tracking system: on-metal, ceramic and tie-on tags matched to each asset, handheld audits, smart cabinets and IP67 HF heads for tooling.
No. It is specified for the FCC 902–928 MHz band only. For ETSI 865–868 MHz, use the dual-band GM-150 or the GM-140-EU.
The module measures 23 × 20 mm (±1 mm). Request the pad layout with your sample before finalizing your PCB.
A 4.5–5.5 V DC rail. Operating current is specified as 300 mA–2.5 A, so size the regulator for 2.5 A and confirm real consumption on a sample.
A TTL-level UART at 115200 bps by default, with 38400 bps selectable.
