Entry-level 50 × 10 mm module that reports ISO14443A/B card UIDs to a TTL or USB host, for handhelds, smart locks and logistics devices.
The HF-140 is a straightforward 13.56 MHz UID reader: present an ISO/IEC 14443 Type A or Type B card and the module passes its unique ID to the host. Listed cards are MIFARE Classic 1K/4K (S50/S70), MIFARE Ultralight, NTAG, FM11RF08 and FM1208. It is meant for identification jobs such as user log-on at a handheld, opening a smart lock, or linking a parcel scan to the operator who made it.
The module measures 50 × 10 × 14 mm (±1 mm) and runs from 5 V DC ±5% at under 200 mA. Its single part number lists both TTL and USB host communication at 115200 bit/s. Rated read distance is more than 20 mm and depends on the card and mounting; the operating range is –10 to +65 °C, with storage from –20 to +80 °C at 15–90% RH.
Its specification closely matches the HF-120 and HF-130, so choose between them on documentation and lead time. The published connector drawing for this part shows only a 5-pin programming header (VCC, SWDIO, SWCLK, RESET, GND) rather than the host data pins, so we confirm the TTL/USB pin assignment and send the matching wiring sheet with samples.
Plan for a 5 V rail, a UART at 115200 bit/s or a USB connection, and keep metal clear of the reading face. If your design needs a documented host pinout today, the HF-130 publishes a 7-pin header with power, buzzer, USB and UART lines.

Apartment building access control hardware: anti-clone readers with matched fob sets, QR visitor codes, 4G controllers for rentals and UHF tags for gates.
Plan RFID for warehouse management: fixed readers and circular antennas at dock doors, conveyor tunnels, handheld cycle counts and on-metal asset tags.
The published drawing shows only the 5-pin programming header, so we confirm the host pin assignment and supply the wiring sheet with samples.
UIDs of ISO/IEC 14443 Type A and Type B cards, including MIFARE Classic 1K/4K, MIFARE Ultralight, NTAG, FM11RF08 and FM1208.
All three share the same size, 5 V supply, read distance and ISO14443A/B UID support. HF-120 and HF-130 publish a 7-pin host header, and HF-130 is split into separate TTL and USB builds.
More than 20 mm, depending on the card type and how the module is mounted.
Compare Wiegand, OSDP and RS485 reader interfaces: wiring, cable limits, AES-128 Secure Channel and steps for a compatible access-control migration.
125 kHz cards are cheap but easy to clone; 13.56 MHz cards add memory and, on DESFire-class chips, AES security. Compare range, chips, security and migration.
Wiegand 26-bit is an even parity bit, 8-bit facility code, 16-bit card number and odd parity bit. Convert card numbers to hex and back with the calculator.
Board-level 13.56 MHz reader/writer with on-board antenna and SAM interface pins, offered in ISO14443A, APDU, A/B and ISO15693 builds with TTL or Wiegand output.
Tiny USB CCID smart-card reader module that adds PC/SC-accessible 13.56 MHz card reading to tablets, PCs, kiosks and ticketing terminals via an external antenna.
USB-powered 47 × 26 mm multi-protocol HF module with built-in or external antenna, optional FeliCa, and SDKs for Windows, Android and Linux.
47 × 26 mm HF module reading ISO14443A/B, ISO15693 and NFC tags, with Wiegand or 3.3 V UART output, on-board or external antenna, and an optional FeliCa version.
Small-footprint 13.56 MHz read/write module that drives your own antenna through a 1.25 mm connector, with TTL, I2C or Wiegand output and Type A, APDU and A/B builds.
