86 × 86 mm QR code and 13.56 MHz card reader with 80 ms average decode, relay contacts and Wiegand, RS485 and USB outputs; a TCP/IP Ethernet version is available.
The QC-160 is a QR code and 13.56 MHz card reader in a square 86 × 86 mm housing, with an optional TCP/IP Ethernet version. It reports QR codes, barcodes and card reads to your access controller or server. The standard unit has Wiegand, RS485 and USB; the network version adds TCP/IP for sites that prefer to collect reads directly on the LAN.
Its decode engine averages about 80 ms per code, a little quicker than the 100 ms of our metal-frame QR readers, which helps at busy visitor lanes. The 648 × 488 camera reads printed and phone-screen codes at 5–18 cm with any rotation and up to ±45° of tilt. Card reading returns UIDs from MIFARE Classic 1K/4K, MIFARE Ultralight, MIFARE DESFire EV1 and NTAG cards, other ISO/IEC 14443A cards, ISO/IEC 15693 tags and NFC phones emulating a card.
A 10-position terminal block carries 12 V DC and GND, RS485 A/B, Wiegand WG0/WG1, NO/COM/NC relay contacts and a configuration port; USB uses a Mini USB cable. Supply 12 V DC ±5%. Working current is 260 mA, so size the power supply accordingly when several readers share it.
The housing measures 86 × 86 × 50 mm. No ingress rating is stated, so plan for indoor or sheltered mounting. Request the TCP/IP data protocol with your order of the network version so your software team can integrate it.

Apartment building access control hardware: anti-clone readers with matched fob sets, QR visitor codes, 4G controllers for rentals and UHF tags for gates.
The QC-160-M-NET adds an Ethernet TCP/IP interface so reads can go straight to software on your network. The standard QC-160-M uses Wiegand, RS485 and USB.
Average decode time is about 80 ms, with a working distance of 5–18 cm depending on code size, angle and lighting.
Provide 12 V DC ±5%. Working current is 260 mA, so allow headroom when several readers share one supply.
No. It reads 13.56 MHz cards and NFC phones only. For 125 kHz EM cards, consider the QC-170, which reads both 125 kHz and 13.56 MHz credentials.
No ingress rating is stated for the QC-160, so use it indoors or under cover. The IP67 metal-frame QC-110 and QC-130 suit exposed doors.
Compare Wiegand, OSDP and RS485 reader interfaces: wiring, cable limits, AES-128 Secure Channel and steps for a compatible access-control migration.
125 kHz cards are cheap but easy to clone; 13.56 MHz cards add memory and, on DESFire-class chips, AES security. Compare range, chips, security and migration.
Wiegand 26-bit is an even parity bit, 8-bit facility code, 16-bit card number and odd parity bit. Convert card numbers to hex and back with the calculator.
Ultra-thin IP65 metal reader that scans QR and dynamic QR codes, reads 125 kHz and 13.56 MHz credentials and BLE 5.3, and outputs Wiegand, RS485 or OSDP v2.2.
Embedded IP65 QR code and 13.56 MHz card module for turnstiles and kiosks, with 3–20 cm QR range, 9–24 V DC input and Wiegand + USB plus RS485, RS232 or TTL.
IP67 metal-frame reader that scans printed or on-screen QR codes and 13.56 MHz card UIDs, with a touch keypad and Wiegand, RS485 and USB outputs.
